Margarita Avila, 55, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin on Monday, November 22, 2021, from1:00 PM-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Margarita was born August 6, 1966, in El Alamillo Cuencame, Durango, Mexico to Refugio Avila Cedillo and Maria Esther Quiñonez Ramirez. Margarita has been a resident of Hereford for 21 years. She has been employed at both Caviness Meat Packers and Merrick Pet Care for a few years. Margarita was a member of San Jose Catholic Church, she loved playing the lotería, dancing, listening to music, taking care of her grandchildren, cooking her famous pupusas and her chicharron prensado en salsa chili verde and enchiladas. Margarita was very faithful in praying the rosary on December the 12 ^th for last 25 years. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother that will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Jose Rojas of Durango, Mexico, her mother Maria Esther Quiñonez Ramirez of Durango, Mexico, her children Cecilia Rojas of Hereford, Texas, Jose Rojas of Durango, Mexico, Guadalupe and Jesus Rojas both of Hereford, Texas; her siblings, Amalia Avila, Lucina Avila, Jose Refugio Avila all of Durango, Mexico, Moses Avila, Leonora Avila, Ignacio Avila all of Hereford, Texas, Matias Avila of Dalhart, Texas, Jose Avila, Carlos Avila both of Durango, Mexico, Jesus Avila, Federico Avila and Guadalupe Avila all of Hereford, Texas; 7 grandchildren Ethan, Margarita, Jayden and Mason Perez, Aaliyah and Jose Rojas and Josiah Rodriguez.

Margarita is preceded in death by her father Refugio Avila Cedillo.
