Margaret Zinser, 99, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024. Margaret was born on September 9, 1924, in Hereford, Texas, to William Ohlig and Caroline (Zipperer) Ohlig. She attended Westway Community Grade School, St. Anthony's School and Hereford High School. After that she moved to Amarillo and attended Business College and followed a stenographer/secretary career with a retail distribution company. She was active in the WWII effort of entertaining locally based troops in Amarillo.

After returning to Hereford, she met her husband, Frank V. Zinser, Jr., (Deceased). They were married on April 7, 1947, and started farming 23 miles west of Hereford.

Margaret enjoyed oil painting, gardening, music, baking, good friends, and close relatives. She belonged to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Veleda Study Club, worked at Caryn's Hallmark and attended Bible Study groups. Margaret dedicated her life to being a supportive partner to her husband, Frank, and to being a wonderful mother. She made sure each of her 5 children's needs and (most) wants were met. She taught them all beginning music lessons, how to make a meal for the family, responsibility, honesty, resourcefulness and fiscal responsibility. Margaret always had fresh baked goods and fresh meals with mounds of mashed potatoes.

Margaret's children are: Barbara Curry, Deceased; Jane Rice (Gary), Woodinville, WA; Diana Attridge, Canyon, TX; David Zinser (Renee), Hereford, TX; Dr. Phillip Zinser (Robert "Corky" Frausto), St. Louis, MO. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Final arrangements will be at Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home, 105 Greenwood, St., Hereford, TX, (806)360-4444. There will be a Viewing on Thursday, February 8, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. A Celebration of Life Chapel Service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. with Father John Ohlig officiating, with a Graveside Service at Restlawn Cemetery, following.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests that donations be made to St. Anthony's Catholic School at 114 Sunset Drive, Hereford, TX, or your favorite charity.
