Margaret Ann Lookingbill, 87, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, in Hereford. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Adams of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial to follow at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Viewing and Visitation will be held on Monday evening, August 7, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Margaret was born on November 1, 1935, in Hereford, Texas to John R. and Lois (Short) McDonald. She married Jim Lookingbill on April 21, 1956, in Clovis, New Mexico. Margaret worked as a telephone operator in Hereford and Dumas and as a homemaker, she was a proud Momma and Nanny. Margaret and her husband Jim lived in many surrounding areas before returning to Hereford after Jim's retirement in 2014. Margaret was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hereford. She enjoyed doing ceramics, planting flowers, and going to the beauty shop for her hair and nails. Margaret was a classy woman, who never shied away from telling you the truth or letting you know how she felt. Margaret cared deeply for her family and friends and their well-being.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Brant Lookingbill of Friona, Texas, Wade Lookingbill of Friona, Texas, Shelly Patterson and her husband Rocky of Pratt, Kansas, and Steve Lookingbill of Vega, Texas; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, sister Catherine Monceballez of Albuquerque, and sister-in-law Sandy Lookingbill of Friona, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Lookingbill, one brother, and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Building Fund, 500 Main Street, Hereford, Texas 79045.
