Manuela "Nelly" Mendoza Garcia, 63, of Hereford passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Dallas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at La Iglesia de San Jose at 10:00 AM with Rev. Jose Ramon Molina as celebrant. Arrangements and cremation services are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Rosary will be Thursday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Manuela was born August 3, 1954 in Vanhorn, Texas to Esequiel and Jacinta (Ornelas) Mendoza. Manuela has been a resident of Hereford since 1967. She married Jose "Joe" Garcia in 1970. She was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford for many years. She enjoyed sewing, playing candy crush, making rosary's, watching EWTN (gospel channel), she loved enchiladas, doing yard work and she was a night owl; but above all of these hobbies her love was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She always knew how to put a smile on people's faces. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, godmother and friend.

Those left to cherish Manuela's memories are her husband, Jose "Joe" Garcia of Hereford, her daughter, Peggy Gutierrez and Mark Gonzales of Levelland and a son, Joe Anthony Garcia of Levelland; four grandchildren; Frankie Arredondo, Jeremiah Garcia, Marissa Garcia and Adrianna Garcia; her brothers and sisters, Pedro Mendoza and wife Maria of Austin, Rosa Perez and Joe of Borger, Gloria Cruz and husband Raul "Bully" of Hereford, Alicia Rocha of Hereford, Johnny Mendoza and wife Teresa of Lubbock, Joe Mendoza and wife Connie of Hereford, Ruben Mendoza of Lubbock, Amelia Carabajal and husband Eliseo of Amarillo, Mary Sylvia Hernandez and husband Augustine of Casa Grande, Arizona and Esequiel Mendoza, Jr. of Hereford.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Nathaniel Gutierrez, a brother, Tony Mendoza and a sister, Mary Pesqueda.
