Manuela "Mela" Bravo, age 70, a devoted longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in Amarillo, surrounded by her loving family.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at San Jose Catholic Church, at 2:00 PM with Celebrant Shane Wieck officiating. Interment will follow at West Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements and services are under the care of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 5, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM, with the rosary being recited at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Manuela took great pride and joy in caring for her husband and raising her children. She loved dancing, listening to music, and visiting casinos. Known for her playful spirit, she was always the jokester, delighting in playing pranks on family and friends. She was also passionate about cooking—especially her famous rice—and had a talent for nurturing her plants and flowers. While Manuela enjoyed many hobbies and activities, her greatest love and passion was always her family, particularly her children and grandchildren. Spending time with her family was her favorite pastime.

Manuela was a devoted member of San Jose Catholic Church. Her presence, warm smile, and wonderful sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children; Maribel Becerril, Nancy Martinez (Gilbert), Jorge Bravo, Jr. (Jessica Ramos), Javier Bravo (Victoria), Alex Bravo (Jessica) and Kayla Hackett (Jordan) all of Hereford; grandchildren, Nathanyel, Mia, Kain, and Eddie Becerril, Sophia and Jordan Martinez, Derek and Zoiee Bravo, Jaiden Ramos, Saira Sanchez (Erik Madsourivong), Micah and Evan Coronado, Taylor Duran (Carlos), Aubrey and JJ Bravo, Kloie, Slade, Jacy, Evan, and Julie Bravo; great grandchildren, Mateo Duran, Brooklyn and Luna Hackett, and Khai Madsourivong; brother Javier Cardenas (Linda) of Laredo, Texas; sisters, San Juana Gonzalez of Laredo, Texas, Lucy Cardenas and Norma Cardenas both of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

She is preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Manuela (Tellez) Cardenas, husband Jorge Alfredo Bravo, daughter-in-law Darlene Bravo, three brothers Julio, Felipe and Juan Cardenas, and two sisters Delia Reyes and Martha Cardenas.
