Magdalena Rodriguez, 81, longtime resident of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Friona. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Calvary Family Church in Hereford, Texas at 10:00 AM with Pastor Ruben Coronado officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin on Tuesday from 10:00 AM-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Due to the COVID-19 virus only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any given time, your health and safety matter to us. People attending the funeral service at the church will be required to wear a mask provided by you.

Magdalena was born October 10, 1938 in Robstown, Texas to Guadalupe and Maria (Martinez) Villarreal. Magdalena has been a resident of Hereford for approximately 50 years. Magdalena was a hardworking lady who raised her 9 children and helped her husband farm. She was a member of Calvary Family Church of Hereford and was a very faithful member. Magdalena enjoyed singing, reading her bible, bird watching, gardening flowers and vegetables, cucumbers, squash, watermelon, and corn. She was gifted of having a green thumb. She was a wonderful mother and best friend to her children, she prayed on her knees for hours for her children and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Elias Rodriguez. Jr. and his wife Eliva of El Paso, Texas; Beatrice Ruiz and her husband Sam; Sylvia Mireles and her husband Adolfo all of Hereford; Elizabeth Campos and her husband Jesus of Friona; David Rodriguez and his wife Mary Helen; Rebecca Gomez and her husband Amando Montoya; Jamie Rodriguez and his wife Maribel; Steve Rodriguez and Abel Rodriguez all of Hereford; five brothers Mateo Villarreal of Houston; Samuel Villarreal and his wife Mote of Orange Grove; Lupe Villarreal and his wife Norma of Hereford; Abram Villarreal and his wife Shelly of Alice and Daniel Villarreal and his wife Linda of Orange Grove; 26 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Magdalena has joined her parents, her husband Elias Rodriguez, four grandsons Rudy Ruiz, Raul Rodriguez, Carlos Talamantez, Jr. and Abel Rodriguez, Jr. and a great-great grandson Rudy Isiah Ruiz and her sister Martha Hernandez.
