Lydia Montemayor Munoz, 89 of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, June 5, 2026, in Dimmitt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 4:00 PM at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home in Hereford, the visitation and viewing will be prior to service from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home.  Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.

Lydia was bon on November 28, 1936, in Beeville, Texas to Miguel and Juanita (Villarreal) Montemayor, she married Alfonso Munoz. Lydia moved to Hereford in 2000 to be closer to family.

Lydia enjoyed accompanying Alfonso on his trucking trips and cherished the time they spent together on the road. She loved bargain shopping and visiting flea markets to buy and sell items. Music and dancing also brought her great joy. Bold, spirited, and outspoken, Lydia left a lasting impression on those around her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, Mary Jane Damian and her husband Edoar, Joe Morales, and Marivel Munoz; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alfonso, son Orlando Reyes, sister Emelia Silvas, and nephew Lupito Silvas.
