Lupe Villegas, 85, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Hereford, surrounded by family. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Hereford under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with a Rosary Service beginning at 6:30 P.M.

Lupe was born on December 12, 1936, in Castaños, Coahuila, Mexico, to Anastacio and Prisca (Rodriguez) Velazquez. She married Ben Villegas in 1972 at San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford. Lupe enjoyed cooking, making tamales, and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, gardening, and planting flowers. Lupe was a kind and sweet person and loved talking to people.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Ben Villegas of Hereford, Texas; sons, Juan Arturo Hernandez and his wife Sandra of San Antonio, Texas, and Luis Hernandez and his wife Lucy of Houston, Texas; daughters, Viola Villegas of Hereford, Texas and Dora Linda Enriquez and her husband Joe of Hereford, Texas; grandchildren, Jesus Hernandez, Sofia Hernandez, Andrea Hernandez, Eva Gonzales, Josie Enriquez, Vanessa Enriquez, Cynthia Rios, David Enriquez, and Diana Campos; thirty-three great-grandchildren; and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Angel Enriquez, and her siblings, Monica, Leonila, Zapopan, Catalina, Eduarda, Pedro, Alfonso, and Bertha Velazquez.
