Lupe "Mr. C." Castillo, 70, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Services and cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Lupe was born August 31, 1951, in Asherton, Texas, to Matias and Zulema (Bosquez) Castillo. Lupe has been a resident of Hereford for 50 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Maggie Perales, in the '70's. He worked for Xcel which is now Cargill, in the warehouse for 15 years, until he became disabled. He enjoyed the Dallas Cowboys, a cold Bud Light, and old Tejano music. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, babysitting and raising them all. He attended San Jose Catholic Church; "Mr. C." was the "go to guy" for advice and directions on how to fix anything and everything, with his family and his friends.

Those left to cherish Lupe's memories are his wife, Margarita "Maggie" Castillo of Amarillo, Texas, his son Mathew "Matt" Castillo and his wife Cindy of Hereford, Texas, a his daughter Samantha Castillo and her husband Manuel Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas; his siblings Belinda DeLeon of Houston, Texas, Selma Flores and Danny Castillo and his wife Sylvia all of Hereford, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren Lucas Byrd, Gabriel Castillo, Jay Hernandez, Sebastian Martinez, Kaitlyn Martinez, Keyliana Hernandez, A.J. Hernandez and Adriel Hernandez.

Lupe is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dalia Hernandez.
