Lucy Lovington, 68, of Hereford passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in Hereford. A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Lucy was born September 10, 1949 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Joe and Begnina (Sabala) Bautista. Lucy has been a resident of Hereford for 43 years. She was a school teacher at the Hereford Independent School District for 34 years. Lucy enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and enjoying her retirement, but her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and her family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Erica Lovington and her husband Adam Garcia of Meadow, Texas and Jessica Lovington and her husband Rob Rios of Hereford; four grandchildren, Bryan and Alexis Lovington, Thomas Garcia and Isacc Guerrero and 1 great grandson, Aiden Lovington; two sisters, Aurora Dominguez of Ft. Worth and Ana Bautista of Portales, NM and a brother, Arnold Bautista of Levelland. Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Joe Louis Bautista and a sister, Dolores Acosta.
