Lorenzo Claudio, Sr., age 78, and a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Hereford. His life will be honored with a Celebration of Life Service scheduled for Monday, December 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Hereford Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Alexandro Corralejo officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at St. Anthony's Cemetery. All arrangements and services are under the care of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home, with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM.

Lorenzo was born on September 5, 1947, in Relampago, Texas, to Refugio and Manuela (Valdez) Claudio. He moved to Hereford, Texas, as a young child and remained a devoted member of the community throughout his life. In 1973, Lorenzo married Josefina Claudio, and together they built a wonderful life, raising beautiful children until Josefina's passing in 1999. Later, in 2004, Lorenzo found happiness again when he married Maria Reyes, and they shared many joyful years together.

Lorenzo dedicated 39 years to his career at Cargill, where he worked as a supervisor. He was known for his skills as a handyman, often working on various projects around his home, from maintaining his cars to tending his yard. Lorenzo found joy in playing his guitar, sharing the word of God with those in need or unwell, and watching his beloved Novelas. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his family. His presence, especially the memories of him enjoying a Coke and white powdered donuts while watching wrestling and sharing his laughter, will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

Lorenzo is survived by his wife, Maria Claudio of Hereford; his children: Paula Claudio, Lorenzo Claudio, Jr., and Jose Manuel Claudio, all of Hereford; Laura Claudio and Andy Claudio and his wife Jessica all of Amarillo; Nora Mariscal and her husband Navarrow of Ft. Worth; Juan Manuel Claudio and his wife Carmen, Robert Claudio and his wife Guadalupe, and Juan Jose Vargas, all of Chicago. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. His siblings include Ralph Claudio and his wife Isabel, Raul Claudio, Minerva Rodriguez and her husband Tony, Lydia Claudio, Lupe Orta, and Jane Cox, all of Hereford; Rebecca Gomez of Plainview; and Maria Claudio and Rosalinda Claudio, both of San Antonio.

Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Josefina Claudio, two daughters—Teresa Claudio and Martha Hernandez—his brother-in-law Ricky Orta, and several nieces and nephews.
