Leticia Sanchez, 74, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in Hereford, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with celebrant Grant Spinhirne. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Family and Friend visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Leticia was born on April 10, 1951, in Uvalde, Texas to Carlos Sr. and Amparo (Rodriguez) Charles. She met her forever friend and love Jose Alfa Sanchez in 1962 in grade school. Leticia gave Jose a note while at the bus stop saying, "Do you like me, check yes or no. He checked yes! and never no. They were married in Hereford at San Jose la Mission on August 18, 1968. Leticia was devoted to caring and nurturing her husband, daughters, and grandchildren. She was faithful to her church and served as a Eucharist minister at San Jose for many years. Leticia showed great strength and endurance through her fight with breast cancer and illness. She always wanted to look her best and enjoyed getting her nails done. Leticia also enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers, spoiling her grandchildren, going to all their events, and having a meal ready for her family. Leticia loved her family; she was wonderful and kind to everyone.

Those left to cherish her memories are mom Amparo Charles of Hereford, Texas, her husband Jose Alfa Sanchez of Hereford, Texas who will once again check yes at Heavens gates; three daughters Joann Mondragon and husband Eddie of Hereford, Texas, Melissa Tijerina and husband Anthony of Belton, Texas, and AnnMarie DeLaCerda and husband Michael of Amarillo, Texas; six grandchildren, Jasmine Ryan and husband Michael, Jonathan Zambrano and wife Marissa, Amber Mondragon and her fiancé David, Anthony M. Tijerina, Matthew Tijerina, and Eddie Mondragon; seven great grandchildren, Cutter Ryan, Easton Ryan, Jaxx Zambrano, Ayden Vick, Zander Zambrano, Ophelia Ryan, and Jonah Zambrano; siblings, Carolina Luna and husband Gilbert of Hereford, Texas, Arthur Charles of Amarillo, Texas, and Violet Briones of Hereford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Carlos Charles; grandmother, Carolina Ortiz; brother Carlos Charles, Jr., and great-grandchildren Michael Anthony Ryan and Charlotte Rhea Ryan.
