Lesvia Alvarado Aguirre, 89, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026, in Dimmitt.

Born November 8, 1936, in Menard, Texas, Lesvia was the daughter of Domingo Alvarado and Enriqueta Perez Alvarado. She married Pablo Aguirre in 1956, and the couple moved to Hereford in 1960. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Lesvia worked as an LVN for Dr. Rush, Dr. Johnson, and Hereford Nursing and Rehab.

Lesvia enjoyed dancing, bowling, crocheting, cooking, and baking. She deeply loved her son and grandchildren and cherished spending time with them. Known for her cheerful and generous nature, she helped anyone she could.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son Robert Aguirre and his wife Janie of Hereford, Texas; granddaughters, Bianca Gilliam and her husband Jimmy and Desiree Aguirre both of Hereford, Texas; three great grandchildren, Gabriella Gilliam, Miranda Gilliam, and Lucas Gilliam; siblings, Romelia Hernandez and her husband Rolando of Beulah, Texas, Domingo Alvarado, Jr. and his wife Mary of Friona, Texas, Richard Alvarado and his wife Evelia of Menard, Texas, and Irene Bermea of Del Rio, Texas; sister-in-law Angelita Alvarado of Friona, Texas; brother-in-law Jose Salas of Perryton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Enriqueta Alvarado; husband Pablo Aguirre; siblings Leonard Alvarado and Hortencia Salas; and brother-in-law Jesus Bermea.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Father Moses Maseko as celebrant. Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.
