Leon "Chion" Rodriguez, 27, of Hereford, Texas, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Childress, Texas. A family and friend visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 PM and rosary at 6:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Leon was born and raised on July 21, 1997, in Hereford, Texas, to Ricky Rodriguez and Yvette Castillo. Leon attended Hereford Schools. He was full of life and was always making friends wherever he went, he truly loved his family and his friends. Rachel Garcia was like his 2nd mother, whom he lived with in Hereford, Texas, for a while. Leon's unique laughter, his presence and his saying to his mom, "Awe, Mama, you know I love you," will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Those left to cherish and remember all the memories he leaves behind are his parents, Yvette Castillo and her husband Roberto Castillo, Jr. of Hereford, and Ricky Rodriguez of Hereford, his children, Josiah and Leon, Jr. Rodriguez of Houston, his siblings, Jonathan Rodriguez of Hereford, Austin Rodriguez of Amarillo, Demetria Rodriguez of El Paso, and Zinnia Castillo and Daniella Castillo of Hereford;  his step-siblings, Alize Castillo, Genavie Castillo, Roberto Castillo III, Romero Castillo, Sevanna Castillo and Ryan Castillo and numerous cousins.

Leon is preceded in death by his daughter, Anaxlya Rodriguez, his maternal grandparents, Julian Juarez and Blanca Castillo, and his aunt, Maria DeLaCruz.
