Kirt McDonald, 58, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Adams officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Kirt was born on August 24, 1965, in Hereford, Texas, to Don Ball McDonald and Viola "Vi" Isabel (Encinias) McDonald. He was raised in Hereford and attended Hereford Schools; while in high school, Kirt participated in theatre arts, played football, and partook in several other school activities. He later moved to Amarillo, in the 1980's, making Amarillo his home. He attended Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) and was honored to become a Certified Welder. Kirt always cherished his mother's successful self-employment in being a longtime Kirby vacuum dealer, where he himself became a prosperous Kirby vacuum dealer for many years. Kirt was exceptional at everything and anything he encountered. He always looked up to his grandparents, and assisted and cared for them in every way that he could. Kirt was a selfless, giving, generous humanitarian, who preferred to walk the streets and serve people with a kind, humble heart; Kirt touched and impacted many lives during his time here on this earth. He was grateful for his life, even when he himself had struggles, Kirt knew that His Lord and Savior would get him through all the valleys and peaks that he was experiencing. Kirt loved his Lord with all his heart and was always ready to spread the "good news" to those who were in need. He loved music, the outdoors, fishing, and camping, but most of all his Lord and Savior. Kirt's smile, laughter and especially his presence will be dearly missed by his family who loved him deeply.

Those left to cherish his memories are his siblings, Chara Dawn McDonald, of Hereford, Texas, and Randy Joel McDonald of Amarillo, Texas; his son, Ryan Shane McDonald of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Shane Lee McDonald and Zion Jane McDonald; a nephew, Sergio McDonald of Amarillo, Texas, his aunt, Katherine Monceballez, of Albuquerque, NM.; his cousins, Lori, Cindy, Johnny and Jenny Monceballez all of Albuquerque, NM; several other cousins, Priscilla Cresap and husband Sam, Teel Piche, Johnny, Cresap all of Houston, and The Ennis', Rodney, Ron, Kim and Kerri; his two forever friends, Joanne Garcia and Lisa Winters both of Amarillo, Texas.

Kirt is preceded in death by his loving parents, Don Ball McDonald and Vi Isabel McDonald, his maternal grandparents, Tony and Abelina Encinias, and his paternal grandparents, Donald Ball, Sr., and Lois Ragland.
