Kathleen Ann Cogan Brockman, 66, of Hereford passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Anthonys Catholic Church of Hereford with Rev. Anthony Neusch as celebrant, burial to follow at St. Anthonys Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Rosary will be Friday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Kathleen was born October 31, 1951 in Houston, Texas to John D. and Thrasilla (Foerster) Cogan. Kathleen grew up in Bartlesville, Midland, Roswell, NM and the Houston area. She attended and graduated from West Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing. Kathleen married the love of her life, James "Jim" Brockman on July 17, 1976 in Canyon, Texas at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Kathleen primarily worked as a registered nurse in Tempe, Arizona for three years. She and Jim moved backed to Hereford in 1983, where she became a homemaker, grandmother and a librarian for St. Anthonys School for approximately ten years. Kathleen was a member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church, she enjoyed volunteering at the Amarillo Panhandle Humane Society and The Humane Society of Deaf Smith County Second Chance Animal Shelter. Kathleen enjoyed painting acrylic, drawings, art, some sewing, jewelry making, and she loved animals, especially horses.

Those left to cherish Kathleen's memories are her husband, Jim Brockman of Hereford, her father, Jack Cogan of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her children, Robert Brockman and his wife Sarah of Spokane, WA., Libby Matthews and her husband Chris of Hereford, Chris Brockman and Brian Brockman both of Hereford; four brothers, Tom Cogan and his wife Jane of Smuggler's Cove, WA., John Cogan and his wife Karen of Farmington, NM., Kevin Cogan and his wife Diane of Oak Point, Texas and Jerry Cogan of Missouri City, Texas, three grandchildren, Andrew, Colin and Brylee Matthews all of Hereford.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her mother, Sally Cogan and a brother, Daniel Cogan.
