Juanita Z. Guerra, 72, of Hereford, Texas passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in Amarillo. Prayer service will be Sunday, May 24, 2020 beginning at 5:30 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with rosary to follow at 6:00 PM. Friends and family viewing will be Sunday from 1:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass and burial of cremains will take place at a later date and time. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Due to the mandates that are still in place because of the COVID-19 virus only (20) people will be allowed in the chapel area at one given time. Your safety and well-being matter to us.

Juanita was born May 27, 1947 in Weslaco, Texas to Antonio and Tomasa Zamora. Juanita has been a resident of Hereford since 1965. In Juanita's younger days she was a supervisor for Zebra Construction based in Littlefield, Texas with her son Robert. She later was employed as a janitor for the Hereford Independent School District for 8 years and most recent was a caretaker for Caprock Home Health for 10 years. The majority of Juanita's life she was a homemaker, a mother and a wife to three very active boys. She was a member of San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford. Juanita was the little lady that loved buying lottery tickets; crafting home decorations; cooking her famous "pan blanco", ribs, pork chops and meatloaf for her family. She loved spending time and spoiling her grandchildren; dancing and listening to music with her now deceased son Roy, going to Amarillo to see her son Raul and having him cook-out and working on cars with her son Robert.

Those left to cherish her memories are her two sons Raul Guerra and his wife Angelica of Amarillo, Robert Guerra and his wife LeeAnn of Hereford and a daughter Priscilla Lopez of San Marcos, her husband Juan Guerra of Amarillo; a brother Valdo Zamora and his wife Janet of Michigan, two sisters Maria Zamora of Michigan and Maria Lopez of San Marcos, 17 grandchildren and her soulmate Jorge Balderama of Hereford.

Juanita is preceded in death by her parents, a son Roy Guerra and a brother Ramon Zamora.
