Juanita R. Estrada, 86, of Hereford, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00 PM at the Genesis Church in Hereford with Pastor Sam Rando officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. A memorial service will be Sunday evening at the funeral home at 6:00 PM.

Juanita was born January 27, 1931 in Rock Springs, Texas to Jose and Ofelia (Aguero) Ramirez. She has been a resident of Hereford since the early 1950's. She was a member of the Genesis Church and was very active and involved in her church, she was always wanting to help out at the church in any way possible. Her passion in life was serving her Lord and Savior. She was in the jail ministry for many years in Hereford, she was known by many as the "Prayer Warrior." Juanita had a very giving heart, not only to her family, but to everyone and anyone she came to know. Her son-in-law and daughters-in-law say, "we loved her like our own mother".

She is survived by five sons, Victor Estrada, Jr. and his wife Josie of Wylie, Texas; Thomas Estrada and his wife Mary of Amarillo; Ricardo Estrada and his wife Velma; Robert Estrada and Daniel Estrada all of Hereford and one daughter, Cecilia Hernandez and her husband Juan of Hereford; one brother, Frank Ramirez and his wife Ernestina of Hereford; three sisters, Carmen Stokes and her husband Wally of Abilene; Cesaria Gonzales of Los Angeles, California and Paula Constancio and her husband Fred of Plainview. 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Victor N. Estrada, Sr., a grandson, Victor Ismael Estrada, two brothers, Armando Ramirez and Jose Ramirez and three sisters, Rafaela Rodriguez, Cruz Resendez and Maria Gonzales.
