Juan Rodriguez, 69, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022, in Dimmitt, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 2:00-8:00 PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Juan was born on September 28, 1952, in Sebastian, Texas, to Jose Enrique and Rita (Mariscal) Rodriguez. Juan served proudly in the United States Army from 1972-1975. Upon his discharge from the Army, he began to work in construction. He was always known to be an honest and hard worker. As Juan approached retirement age he chose to move back to Texas. He expressed that he wanted to live near his sister, Espie Rodriguez-Casarez. He worked at Arrowhead Mills and also worked at Azteca Mills. In his retirement Juan enjoyed tinkering and fixing this and that. He loved going to the Casinos, bowling, and buying Lotto tickets. He was always up for a good joke. Juan had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for always willing to lend a helping hand and his kind heart. Juan's great smile and contagious laugh will surely be missed by all.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Rita Mariscal Rodriguez of Moorpark, CA. His siblings, Margarita Barrera of Moorpark, CA, Piedad Rodriguez of Camarillo, CA., Gloria Rodriguez of Camarillo, CA, Joe Rodriguez and his wife Shelly and Manuel Rodriguez all of Moorpark, CA, and Rita Rodriguez of Hereford, TX. Brother-in-law Ciro Casarez, nephew Ciro Casarez Jr. and his wife Jackie and niece Beva Casarez and her husband Javier Lopez all of Hereford, TX. Nephew Joe Rudy Escobar and Sazha Maldonado of Newbury Park, CA and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Juan is preceded in death by his father Jose Enrique Rodriguez, Sr., sister Espie Casarez, nephew Jose "QuiQue" Casarez, brother-in-law Alberto Barrera and Uncle Chito Mariscal.
