Joseph "Joe" Stubblefield III, 81, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, in Amarillo.

Joe was born on December 7, 1942, in Hale Center, to Joseph Stubblefield II and Minnie Elizabeth (Gibson) Stubblefield. Joe attended school and graduated from Hale Center High School. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree at West Texas A&M University. He is a long-time resident of Amarillo, Texas. Joe was self-employed working as an Agriculture Financial Consultant. He married Peggy Green and they have shared 35 beautiful years together.

Joe was a kind, friendly, entertaining man who loved to tell a long story, strike up a conversation, and give a history lesson or two. He was a true cowboy enjoying roping, riding, fishing, and spending time at his home in Colorado.

Those left to cherish his memories are wife Peggy Stubblefield of Amarillo, Texas; two stepsons Keith Todd of Amarillo, Texas and Kris Stubblefield and wife (Allison) of Elkhart, Texas; several grandchildren; two sisters, Joe Beth Shackelford and husband Dick of San Angelo, Texas, and Rita Dye of Colorado; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Elizabeth Stubblefield and son Joseph Stubblefield IV.

A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford.  Arrangements and Cremation Services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.
