Josefina Trevizo de Cano, 77, of Hereford, Texas passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 11:00 AM at La Mision de San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 13, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Greenwood Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin Tuesday from 1:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home and rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM.
Josefina was born June 8, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Lauro and Amalia (Apodaca) Trevizo. Josefina has been a resident of Hereford since the early 1970's. She was a homemaker a wonderful mother and also worked at the Hereford Hospital in housekeeping. She was a longtime member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church and a member of the Guadalupanas; Josefina was very active and involved in her church and had a tremendous faith. She was always striving to bring her family together; she enjoyed spending time with them all and was a wonderful grandmother. She liked to cook and bake, she was known for her enchiladas and her green and red chili. Her daughter remembers her baking cookies and breads during the holidays. Josefina enjoyed reading her bible, telling her children stories about her childhood and making her family quilts.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children Fabiola Ochoa and her significant other Steve Phipps; Arturo Trevizo and his wife Linda; Audenago Trevizo and Asael Ochoa and his wife Sylvia all of Ft. Worth, Texas; one brother Efrain Trevizo of Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Josefina is preceded in death by her parents, a son Claudio Ochoa and twelve brothers and sisters.
