Trabajó de forma estacional para D & J Gin en Lockney, Texas, durante varios años.

José era conocido por su fuerte ética de trabajo y espíritu extrovertido. Le encantaba bailar, hacer ejercicio, escuchar música, cultivar, cocinar, cultivar un huerto y cuidar sus plantas. Su personalidad alegre, risas y cálida presencia serán profundamente echados de menos por todos los que le conocieron y amaron.

Jose was born on December 5, 1963, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Manuel and Jovita (Zamora) Torres. He lived in Kress, Texas, for 12 years and had previously resided in Hereford, Texas, for approximately two to three years. He worked seasonally for D & J Gin in Lockney, Texas, for several years.

Jose was known for his strong work ethic and outgoing spirit. He loved dancing, exercising, listening to music, farming, cooking, growing a garden, and caring for his plants. His fun-loving personality, laughter, and warm presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his sons: David Torres and Brandon Barks, both of Kress, Texas, his siblings; Graciela Montes and her husband, Juan, of Hereford, Texas; Manuel Torres and his wife, Irma, of Stratford, Texas; Maura Torres and his wife, Flor, of Houston, Texas; his siblings in Chihuahua, Mexico: Evangelina Torres, Maria Torres, and Juan Torres and his wife, Yadhira, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins

Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Jovita Torres; his sisters, Cecilia and Rosa Torres; and his brother, Beto Torres.
