Jose "Joe" Tijerina, 61, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. at San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford, with Father Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A viewing will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Jose "Joe" Tijerina III, was born on April 23, 1962, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to Jose Tijerina, Jr. and Olga (Casarez) Tijerina. Joe was a lifelong resident of Hereford and a 1980 Hereford High School Graduate. Joe married Tiny (Barela) Tijerina on March 7, 1983, in Hereford. He worked as a truck driver for Hereford Concrete and was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, "Knights on Bikes." Joe loved to ride his motorcycle and listen to music, he knew and loved all types of music, and shared that knowledge and love for music with his children. Joe enjoyed cooking out, time spent and conversations with family and friends, and parties, especially his birthday. Joe was funny, stern, bossy, a great listener, affectionate, and loving; he had a big personality and an even bigger heart. Joe was most proud of his family; he loved his wife, children, and grandchildren and told them often how proud he was and how much he loved them.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Tiny Tijerina of Hereford, Texas; son, Thomas Tijerina and his wife Teresa of Lubbock, Texas; daughter, Monica Ramirez and her husband Joshua of Hereford, Texas; nine grandchildren, Misael Guzman, Noah Tijerina, Gavin Hill, Taylor Hill, Jessie Hill, Evan Ramirez, Jemma Tijerina, Emersyn Ramirez, and Jewells Tijerina; siblings, Abelardo and his wife Sandra of Harker Heights, Texas, Henrietta Tijerina of Hereford, Texas, Janet Tijerina and her husband Hilario Fuentes of Hereford, Texas, Ciro Tijerina and his wife Jessie of Olton, Texas, and Olga Gonzalez and her husband Lee of San Antonio, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, and many more loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Olga Tijerina, and a sister Yolanda Tijerina Turrubiates.
