Jose M. Martinez, Jr., went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at the age of 70. A family and friend visitation will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. with a prayer service being recited at 6:00 P.M. Cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Jose was born to his loving parents Jose M. Martinez, Sr., and Agustina (Gallegos) Martinez in Mason, Texas on July 23, 1953.

Jose moved to Hereford in the early 70's and made Hereford home, serving the community of Hereford he was employed with "Big T Pump Company" for over 30 years. He was with the Deaf Smith County for several years as well. When Jose wasn't working, he was working on his cars that he loved dearly. Jose loved to collect cars primarily "Hot Wheel's." Jose enjoyed going camping and being outdoors. He was very simple and loved to watch his old western movies.

Those left to carry on his legacy are his siblings, Maria Almaraz and her husband Antonio, Ofelia Mendez and her husband Alex, Juan A. Martinez, Josefina Martinez, Maria Antonia Guerra and her husband Chris all of Hereford, Texas, Pascuala Martinez of Friona, Texas, Victoria Alonso and her husband Raul of Mesquite, Texas, Enedina Martinez of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his loving cousins, Ruben Ramirez and his wife Shelia of Plainview, Texas, Jose Luis "Pepe" Diaz of Houston, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews.

Those preceding him in passing are his parents, Jose M. Martinez, Sr., and Agustina (Gallegos) Martinez; his niece, Tina Cecilia Mendez; his brother Jose Jesus Martinez.
