Jose "Joe, JoJo" Angel Hernandez, 61, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on February 2, 2025, in Hereford.  Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Oasis Baptist Church, 8201 Canyon Dr., Amarillo, Texas with Reverend Bradley Speer officiating.

Joe was born on May 13, 1963, in Dimmitt, Texas to Jose Angel Sr. and Erma (Mitchell) Hernandez. He graduated from Friona High School, after high school Joe served in the United States Air Force. Joe worked as a truck driver, for many years for Shaw Flooring and then as an instructor for Amarillo College. Joe met his wife Tangi (Woolbright) in Amarillo, and they were married on June 24, 2016, in Amarillo, Texas. Joe loved John Deere tractors; his love of tractors came from working on the farm with his father as a young boy. He enjoyed vacations and traveling with Tangi, fishing, and playing poker with friends where he earned the nickname "no fold Joe". Joe also enjoyed cooking, he could make a good pot of beans and shoot at the gun range. Joe was a character, he was straightforward but respectful, he loved Tangi's family as his own and they were the same, and he was faithful in serving his church, Oasis SW Baptist in Amarillo.

Those left to cherish his memories are wife Tangi Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas; daughter Kelsie Stancell and husband Austin of Muleshoe, Texas; two grandsons Mason and Warren Stancell; sister Lupe Padilla and husband Michael of Hereford, Texas, brother Macedonio Hernandez of Amarillo, Texas, sisters Rebecca Lindaur and husband Randy of Hereford, Texas, Olga De Lao and husband Juan of Friona, Texas, and Sally Cooney and husband Michael of Hereford, Texas,; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert and Rose Woolbright of Dimmitt, Texas, sister-in-law Krystal Welch and husband Rick of Amarillo, Texas; brothers-in-law Tohme Woolbright and Robert B Woolbright both of Amarillo, Texas; special friends Chaz and Janet Conley, Jim Conley, Shain Rhodes, Gary Herring, and Gary and Judy Washington; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Angel Sr. and Erma Hernandez, and sister Debbie Puente and her husband Roy.
