Jose "Chihuahua" Balderrama, 70, of Dawn, Texas passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, in Dawn. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Jose was born on June 26, 1951, in Chihuahua, Mexico to Federico and Socorro (Rodriguez) Balderrama.  He moved to Hereford, Texas in 1979 and has lived in Dawn for the last 10 years. Jose worked for Xcel Meat Packing Plant in Friona for many years and then at the age of 45 he began his truck driving career. Jose met Eugenia Rincon in 1992 and they have shared their life together since 2014.  Jose was creative and loved to build stuff out of scrap material such as wood, metal, or anything he found lying around. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. On many occasions he would take his granddaughters to the store for a treat and to go eat. He enjoyed listening to Spanish music, eating barbacoa on Saturdays, and menudo on Sunday's. He also loved to cook out for Eugenia and the family. Jose was fun to be around and will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Eugenia Rincon of Dawn, Texas, son Obed Balderrama and his wife Alejandra Ponce of Mexico, daughter Pamela Balderrama and her husband Cesar Orozco of Mexico; grandchildren, Sebastian Balderrama, Brianna Balderrama, Grecia Balderrama, Maylin Orozco Balderrama, Santiago Orozco Balderrama, and Camila Orozco Balderrama all of Mexico; Eugenia's son Ricardo Rincon Jr., grandchildren, and great-grandson.

He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
