Joey DeLeon III, 45, of Hereford, Texas passed away Wednesday March 13, 2019 in Hereford.  Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Hereford, with Pastor Chris Flickinger and Pastor Kyle Streun officiating, Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Family and friend visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Joey was born April 9, 1973 in Dimmitt, to Jose III and Maria (Escamilla) DeLeon. Joey was a resident of Hereford all his life, he married Suzanna Medrano DeLeon on August 4, 1992.  He graduated from Hereford High School in 1993.  Joey worked for XCEL Energy for 16 years. In previous years Joey was a Deacon at First Baptist Church, he was the Biggest Family Man there could ever be, his children were his world. Joey was a man of God, and always had a smile that everyone will remember. Joey enjoyed being out on the lake on his boat, movies and popcorn, golfing, working out, eating cookies and milk in the middle of the night, he loved his job and the people he worked with. Joey was a social man and never met a stranger. His children say he was  also the "Best Dog Granddad."

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Suzanna DeLeon of Hereford; two sons, Nathon DeLeon and his girlfriend Jenni Frische of Hereford, Matthew DeLeon and his wife Megan of Austin and his daughter "The Princess" Kylee DeLeon of Hereford; three brothers Ricky Gonzalez, David Escamilla and Ralph Moralez and his wife Maria all of Hereford; five sisters Shella Tovar and husband Valentine, Rosie Gonzalez, DeeDee Najera and husband Nico, Raquel Moralez, and Eliza Avila and husband Chris all of Hereford.

Joey is preceded in death by his parents.
