Joe Ector Figueroa, 50, of Hereford passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 in Hereford.

Joe was born July 12, 1968 to Jose Luis Riojas and Reyes (Figueroa) Ruiz in McCamey, Texas. Joe graduated from Hereford High School in 1986. He married the love of his life Dolores Segovia in 1986. Joe later joined the United States Army in 1987 where he was stationed in Germany for four years in field artillery. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1991. Joe worked for Caviness Beef Packers for a while, then became self-employed being a handyman and a jack of all trades. He did mechanic work, electrical and remodeled several homes. Joe enjoyed telling jokes, listening to music, fixing odds and ends, but his greatest love and joy were his children and his family. He loved to spend time with them, Joe was known for his Big Heart, and for caring for everyone, he never said "no" and was everybody's friend, he never met a stranger with his beautiful smile. He wanted to make his children proud.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Jose Luis Riojas and his stepmother Janie and his mother, Reyes Ruiz and his stepfather Isidro all of Hereford; his children, Matthew Segovia and his wife Carolyn, Anna Medina and her husband Benjamin, Joshua Figueroa and Aaron Figueroa all of Amarillo; his soulmate Dolores Figueroa of Amarillo; two sisters, Maria A. Riojas of Port Arthur and Oralia Riojas of Hereford and three brothers; Joe Riojas, Jr. and his wife Sabrina, Severiano Riojas and Rene Ruiz all of Hereford and a stepbrother, Michael Riojas of Midland; four grandchildren; Jacob, Nikolas, Cruz and Cash Medina, several nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents; three aunts, Elena Vargas, Margarita Segura and Amelia Riojas and two uncles, Raul Figueroa and Manuel Riojas.
