Jimmie Ray "Jim" Bridges, 74, of Amarillo, formerly of Hereford, Texas, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Amarillo. Celebration of Life Services are Scheduled for Tuesday February 27, 2018 at the Christian Heritage Church in Amarillo at 6:30 P.M. with Craig Lawlis officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford Texas.

Jimmie Ray "Jim" Bridges was born on November 26, 1943 in Hereford, Texas to Elisha and Sara (Horn) Bridges. Jimmie was a veteran of the United States Army from 1963-1966. He was a resident of Amarillo for 25 years. He managed and did maintenance for the Fountain Terrace Apartments in Amarillo now known as the Legacy Ridge apartments for 25 years. He was a member of Christian Heritage Church, where he was very involved with his church family, through church he was a part of the "Hard Core Ministry" where he loved to ride his motorcycle with his Christian biker buddies, he was also involved with children's programs and helped feed the homeless. During Jimmie's younger years he enjoyed building cars. He then moved on to building computers, and most recently he enjoyed gun shows and auctions. He was a huge supporter of veterans.

Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Shalyn Bridges of Austin, Texas, one sister, Betty Ruth Turner of Lubbock, Texas, two brothers, Earl Bridges of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Ronald Bridges of Bluffton, Texas and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Leslie Lloyd Bridges, Joe Billie Bridges, Frank A. Bridges, Merl Bridges, Edwin Lee Bridges, and Donald Bridges, three sisters, Juanita Faye Phillips, Lois Lucille Harper, and Linda Kay Bridges.
