Jesus Jose "CHIMI" Marquez, 72, of Hereford, Texas passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, In Lubbock, Texas. Viewing will be on Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 10:00am-5:00pm at the funeral home. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Jesus was born November 3, 1948, in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Francisca (Maldonado) Marquez. Jesus was nicknamed "CHIMI" for his fond love of chimichanga's, he was also known for always giving everyone a hard time. While working at the car wash, he would always be dancing and having a good time, he was known to be a little hardheaded which all his children may have inherited a little bit from him. But most of all he was the best husband, father but probably even a better grandfather, he was loved by the community.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Maria Marquez, children, Jose Marquez and girlfriend Alicia, Zulema Marquez, Jesus Marquez. Jr and wife Marie Carmen and Rebecca Garcia. Twenty-three grandchildren, Brayden, Jayden, Teara, Mireya, Zizah, Ace, Jace, Ivory, Jordan, Jazmine, Ivan, David, MJ, Skylar, Mycaela, Malakai, Dilaila, Abram, Senaida, Devon, Devine, Samuel and Skylina.

Jesus is preceded by his parents and daughter-in-law Jessica Vargas.
