Jessica Vargas Marquez, 29, of Hereford passed away Monday, June 3, 2019 in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 2:00 PM at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant David Contreras, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Rosary and vigil will be Thursday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Viewing will begin Thursday at 1:30 PM.

Jessica was born August 21, 1989 in Hereford, Texas to Prajedis Vargas and Carmen Alejandre. Jessica graduated from Hereford High School. She and Jose Marquez married in 2009. She was employed with Top of Texas for 8 years. Jessica's life and world were her husband and her children. She enjoyed family gatherings and was always the life of the party, taking plenty of photos for memories to be cherished, always had her funny sense of humor and her straight-forward assertiveness, telling what needed to be said. Jessica was ambitious, hard-working, strong, courageous and fought to the very end of her life. She was a very caring and kind individual and would do anything for anybody that needed help. She was an avid Oakland Raiders fan. She was a beautiful and wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend who will be so dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Jose Marquez, her children Leilani Vargas, Jediyeah Salazar, Zizah Salazar, Ace Vargas and Jace Marquez all of Hereford; her parents Prajedis Vargas of Mexico and Carmen Alejandre of Hereford; five sisters Melissa Alejandre and her husband Cesar Salinas of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Vanessa Alejandre and her husband Ivan Palomares; Veronica Vargas and her husband Fernando Perez; Ashley Alejandre and her husband Tony Escamilla and Tonya Alejandre and her husband Moyces Lamas all of Hereford; in-laws Jesus Jose and Cruz Marquez of Hereford; sisters-in-law Zulema Marquez and Joseline Garcia both of Hereford and a brother-in-law Jesus Jose Marquez, Jr. and his wife Carmen of Muleshoe; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jessica is preceded in death by her grandparents.
