J erry Lee Walker, 71, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home in Hereford, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at New Life Restoration Center with Jerry's cousin, Pastor Dale Walker officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, from 4:00-8:00 PM with visitation from 6:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jerry was born July 14, 1951, in Greenville, Texas, to James Howard and Mary Catherine (Goodman) Walker. Jerry graduated from Hereford High School in 1969. He later became employed with SPS/Xcel Energy as a lineman, retiring after 43 years of employment. He married the love of his life, Cyndi Parks on September 29, 1979, in Hereford, Texas. Jerry was known for being "the nicest man in Hereford". He enjoyed golfing, spending time with his work buddies, even after work hours; fishing, roping in his younger days, and Christmas was his favorite holiday, so he always went above and beyond everyone's expectations, but above all these hobbies, Jerry's greatest love in life was his family, his children, and his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish Jerry's memories are his wife, Cyndi (Parks) Walker of Hereford, Texas, his two daughters Heather Wilburn and her husband Kelley of Hereford, Texas, and Tori Walker Smith and her husband Randy of Guthrie, Oklahoma; his siblings Jim Barnett and his wife Linda of New Orleans, Louisiana, Joe Walker and his wife Mary of Allen, Texas, Connie Gallaway and her husband Jim of Olton, Texas, and Cathy Donathan and her husband Terry of Midland, Texas; six grandchildren Bret Wilburn and his fiancé Hannah Allemand, Austin Wilburn and his fiancé Sadie Morris, Cayson Jerry Wilburn, Autumn Rose Wilburn, Callie Smith and Blane Smith and numerous cousin, nieces and nephews.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, James Howard and Mary Catherine Walker.
