Jerry Garcia, 44, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, in Hereford, Texas. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A viewing will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM, with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jerry was born on November 12, 1980, in Friona, Texas, to Frank P. and Maria (Castillo) Garcia.  Jerry has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, all his life. He attended Hereford Independent Schools and graduated from Hereford High School. Shortly after graduation he enrolled in culinary classes, always wanting to be a chef. He was the Assistant Deli Manager at Amigo's Grocery Store for 5 years. Jerry enjoyed cooking, watching wrestling, video games and being a "Mama's Boy." He and his mother had differences of opinions when it came to football, he was a Cowboy's fan and she was a Bronco's fan, nonetheless he loved her deeply as she did him. Jerry was funny and always had a good joke to tell; his family has many wonderful and funny stories to remember and cherish him by. His daughter, Kyrie, says, "my daddy was really, really nice." Jerry loved his two children, Dametrie and Kyrie, with all his heart. Jerry's presence, smile, jokes and laughter is going to be missed by all those who loved him dearly.

Those left to cherish and treasure his memories are his children, Dametrie Garcia, and Kyrie Garcia both of Hereford; his mother, Maria Garcia of Hereford; his two siblings, Jeannette Marquez and her husband Marvin and Frank Terry Garcia all of Hereford; eight nieces and nephews, Matthew Marquez, Andrew Marquez, Amber Marquez, Jordan Garcia, Nathan Garcia, Mary Jane Martinez, Zaylynne Garcia and Liam Ruiz.

Jerry is joining his father, Frank P. Garcia, in heaven.
