Jeff Welty, 55, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel in Hereford with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, 11:00 AM-2:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jeff was born on April 10, 1970, in Hereford, Texas, to Donald "Skinny" Lee and Letha Mae (Grant) Welty. Jeff lived in Hereford for 45 plus years, later moving to South Dakota for several years. He was a custom harvester with his family's business till 2000. He eventually went to work for Barrett and Crofoot Feedyard as a truck driver for more than 10 years. Jeff enjoyed gardening, making knives, fishing, going to the lake, playing pool and being the jokester that he always was. Jeff had many hobbies and attributes but above all these his most loved and cherished times were with his children and grandchildren. Jeff was a wonderful dad and granddad, and his presence, smile and orneriness will be missed by all who love him.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two beautiful daughters, Kerstin Kerr and her husband Ryan, Chelsea Welty and her husband Jess Harman all of Amarillo; his brother, John Welty and his wife Brandy of McLain, and his sister, Cynthia Welty-Moss of Logan, N.M.,  three grandchildren, Gavin and Ali Kerr, and Adalee Harman; two nieces, Mara Maxwell of Dallas, and Jolee Henry of Lubbock; and his ex-wife and good friend, Tammy Welty of Amarillo.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Tom Moss.
