Jay Montgomery, 61, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021, in Hereford, Texas. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Jay was born on April 1, 1960, to Richard and Patricia (Northington) Montgomery in Colorado City, Texas. He has been a resident of Hereford since 1969.  Jay graduated from Hereford High School in 1979 and was proud to be a Hereford Whiteface football player. After high school he completed a year of technical school and then worked for Neill's Body shop for thirty years. Jay was a hard worker and enjoyed working with his hands and metal.

Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Patricia Montgomery of Hereford, Texas; brother, Mauri Montgomery and his wife Lydia of Granbury, Texas; niece Kerris Montgomery of Granbury, Texas; nephew Kanen and his wife Amanda of Ft. Worth; and great nephews, Jordyn Ramos and Kadyn Duarte of Granbury, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Montgomery.
