Inez Jane Ortiz, 57, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas. Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Noe Diaz officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Jane was born on December 9, 1963, in Dalhart, Texas to Cristobal Inez Abeyta and Maggie (Martinez) Abeyta. She married Raymundo Banulos Ortiz in 1980.  Jane worked as a homemaker and took great pride in caring for her family. She moved back to Hereford in May of 2021 after spending the last twenty years in Utah. Jane enjoyed nature, gardening, and planting flowers. She loved to sing and listen to all types of music, most recently she enjoyed the music from the band Midland. She also loved her dog, Spartan. Jane was nurturing but stern and she was never afraid to speak her mind. Jane was a very loving person and if you knew her, you would never forget her. She will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband Raymundo Ortiz, Sr. of Hereford, Texas; sons, Raymundo Ortiz, Jr. of Hereford, Texas and Luis Miguel Ortiz and his wife Heather of Utah; grandchildren, Alea Ortiz, Javi Ortiz, Savannah Ortiz, Jonathan Ortiz, Piper Ortiz, Josh Ortiz, and Jazmine Ortiz all of Utah; a sister Shirley Abeyta of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, Juan Abeyta, Luis Abeyta and his wife Laura, Mike Abeyta and his wife Magdalena all of New Mexico, and Alfonso Abeyta and his wife Rita of Hereford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Cristobal and Maggie Abeyta; brothers Gene and Henry Abeyta, and a sister Pauline Sanchez.
