Hope Chavarria passed away at the age of 70 years old on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Amarillo. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at the Nazarene Family Church of Hereford with Pastor Ted Taylor officiating. A family and friend visitation will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 3:00-8:00 P.M. at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Hope's family has entrusted local arrangements to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford.

Hope was born to Teofilo O. Chavarria and Narcissa (Becerra) Chavarria in Waco, Texas, on September 14, 1953. She was a life-long resident of Hereford and raised her family there. After 30 plus years of working in the cattle industry she retired from Diamond Cattle Feeders.

Hope was loved by everyone she encountered. She had an extremely strong work ethic and was a woman of excellence and whatever she did, she did to the fullest. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she cherished. She will be remembered as the best daughter, sister, mother, nana and friend. She was truly authentic and loved wholeheartedly. Hopie enjoyed her nightly news at 5:30pm and of course she was an avid Hereford Brand Newspaper reader. She was always all things to all people.

Her faith in the Lord was strong and her spirit will live on through her children, Catina Harrington and Gabriel of San Marcos, Texas, Heather Ann Lucero, Dana Lea Crespin all of Amarillo, Texas; her brother, Edward Chavarria and Angie of Amarillo, Texas; her  grandchildren, Spencer, McKenzie, Keenan, Noah, Daetin, Jonah, Hannah, Sarah, Carter; her great grandchildren, Kamdynn, Kairo, Kane; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in passing are her parents, Teofilo O. Chavarria and Narcissa Chavarria; her siblings, Elizabeth, Rita and Eliseo.
