Hilario "Larry" Ulibarri, 86, a longtime resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, January 2, 2025, in Amherst, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Celebrant Grant Spinhirne officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. The viewing will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 PM with rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Larry was born April 27, 1938, in Garita, New Mexico, to Sixto and Lourdes (Quintina) Ulibarri. He has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, since the age of 16, making Hereford his home for 70 years, and establishing himself as a pillar within the community.  He married the love of his life, Herminia Gomez, on December 23, 1957, in Hereford. Together, they had two beautiful daughters, whom they loved dearly. Larry took pride in being an outstanding provider to his family. Most of his life, he worked multiple jobs to provide opportunities for "his girls" that he never had. His proudest moment was that he was able to provide a higher education for his daughters.  Larry was an entrepreneur, owning Larry's Barber Shop for over 60 years. Additionally, he had a Liquor store and a check cashing business for over 35 years.  Larry's love and passion were his family first and his quarter horse's second. He also had a deep love and appreciation for music and enjoyed playing his guitar. Larry had a steadfast faith and was active in the Catholic community. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and more recently, his great-grandson, Luca. He genuinely loved all his friends in the community, frequently either calling them or paying them a visit. He truly was a giver and caretaker. Larry's presence, smile, laughter and giving spirit will be missed by all who loved him dearly.

Those left to remember and cherish his memories are his two daughters, Delfine Mazzamuto-Madrid  and her spouse Anastacio of Wolfforth, Texas, and Dana Limon of Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren, Alessandra Mazzamuto, Girolamo Mazzamuto, Peter Mazzamuto and Jospeh Limon, and one great grandchild, Luca Mazzamuto; two sisters, Janie Aguilar and her spouse Robert of Hereford, Texas, and Frances Lang and her husband Dan of Mansfield, Texas.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Sixto and Lourdes Ulibarri, and his siblings, Raymond Ulibarri and Rosalie Carreon.
