Helen Noyes, 85, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Celebrant Nick Gerber officiating. Burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 5:00-8:00PM and rosary at 6:30PM at the funeral home.

Helen was born May 26, 1936, in Quemado, NM. to Roy Frank and Ella Bernice (Rice) Parker. Helen came to Texas when she was 17 years old, becoming a resident of Hereford, Texas in 1979. She married the love of her life Don Noyes on February 5, 1954, it was love at first sight for them both. Helen was employed at BJM, St. Anthony's Parrish office as the secretary and retiring from Deaf Smith Electric. Helen has been a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church since 1998 and a volunteer at the Hereford Regional Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary and the Hereford Senior Citizens Thrift Store. Helen was fond of going to the casinos and playing the slot machines, spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling to many different places with her family and friends and she mastered the art of making the best biscuits and gravy. Helen was a caregiver for all her elderly friends, taking them to get medication or to a doctors visit in Amarillo. Helen loved to tell her children many stories about her childhood. She wanted them to come with her and visit her hometown where she recalled, in 1940, she and her daddy placing a "Lard Bucket" in a tree and her daddy telling her not to touch it or mess with it or it would explode. She took Angie and Amy, her daughters, and her grandchildren, in the year 1998, to that very spot in Quemado, New Mexico, and there in that tree hung that bucket filled with blasting caps. Helen's children will continue telling her stories and allowing her legacy to live on. She will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Tim Noyes of Amarillo, Texas, David Noyes and his wife Leslie of Havana, FL., Angie Hammons and her husband Steve of Amarillo, Texas, and Amy Noyes and her partner Angeline Reinart of Tulsa, OK.; 2 sisters Elsie Duggins of Las Vegas and Donna Morley and her husband Adrian of Lovington, NM., 10 grandchildren Christie Lord and partner Eddie Laury, Russell Bagwell and his wife Ashlee, Jason Noyes and his wife Liz, Ashley Houzenga and her husband Stephen, Nicholas Hammons and his wife Amanda, Brad Noyes and his wife Machelle, Sarah Noyes, Parker Hammons, Logan Hammons and partner Kendra Jenkins and Ean Noyes and his wife Carissa; 15 great grandchildren Colton Bagwell, Stephen Lord, Preston Lord, Anna Hamel, Ben Bagwell, Sydney Morris, Addison and Cooper Noyes, Dominique and Jackson Noyes, Garrett, McKayla and Harper Houzenga, Michael and Carter Hammons and Bentley Noyes.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Noyes, her daughter Lyn Rayburn, her brothers Frank, Richard, Monroe, Cecil, and Rodney Parker and one sister Louise Perry.
