Guadalupe "Doña Lupita" Salazar, 74, of Hereford, Texas passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Nestor Lara. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 3:00-8:00 PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. A mask is required to attend the funeral service at the church.

Guadalupe was born November 15, 1946 in Durango, Mexico to Vicente and Guadalupe (Calderon) Salazar. She has been a resident of Hereford for 11 years. She was married to Luis Astorga for 58 years. Guadalupe worked most of her life but left her job to care for her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her homemade flour tortillas and her gorditas. She and her husband enjoyed eating out and spending time together. Guadalupe loved to shop for shoes and purses.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children Manuela Astorga and her husband Primitivo Alcaraz of California, Patricia Astorga and her husband Martin Villarreal of Hereford, Ramon Astorga and his wife Carmela Gonzalez of Mexico, Sergio Astorga and his wife Isabel Montelongo of California, and Hector Luis Astorga and his wife Margarita Hernandez of Mexico; three sisters, Dionicia Salazar of Mexico, Martha Salazar and her husband Santiago Villarreal and Adriana Salazar all of California; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Guadalupe will be joining her parents, her husband, Luis Astorga, a brother, German Salazar and a great grandson Carlos Manuel Gonzalez in heaven.
