Gilberto Garza, 77, a life long resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anibal Claros officiating, and  friends and family to speak and share memories. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Gilberto was born on November 7, 1942 in Elsa, Texas to Onesimo and Petra (Leal) Garza. Gilberto worked until retirement for the City of Hereford, in the Parks department. He enjoyed his job in landscaping and took pride in taking care of his own yard and flowers. Gilberto was passionate about music. He loved to sing and play instruments. He played the guitar, piano, accordion, and keyboard all by ear.

Those left to cherish his memories are his two sons: Adam Rodriguez and his wife Vickie of San Angelo, Texas and Gilbert Garza Jr. of Hereford, Texas; two sisters: Melida Pacheco and husband George of Hereford, Texas and Olga Garza of Amarillo, Texas; and 6 grandchildren.

Gilberto is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Garza, a daughter Monica Bruemas, and two sisters: Yolanda Gomez and Rebecca Ramirez.
