Gilbert Davis, 61, a native resident of Georgia, but recently of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in Hereford. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Bethany Baptist Church in Homerville, Georgia, at 11:00AM with Pastor Gene Luke officiating, burial will be in the Arabia Cemetery in Homerville, Georgia.

Gilbert was born on February 7, 1964, in Homerville, Georgia, to Edward Franklin and Margaret Iown (Gilbert) Davis. Gilbert has been a resident of Hereford for the past year and a half. Gilbert had a love for all things racing; racing cars, sprint cars, dirt track racing, funny cars, drag racing and quarter mile drag racing. If he was not driving them, then he was working on them. He also enjoyed fishing with his son, he was an Auburn State fan, loved animals, and was always the life of the party. Gilbert had many hobbies and passions, but his greatest enjoyment was his children, nieces and nephews and his family were his true love in life. Gilbert's happy go lucky personality and presence will be missed by many.

Those left to cherish his memories are his children, Savanna Davis and Cody Parker both of Valdosta, Georgia; mother of his children, Tracie Parker of Valdosta, Georgia; his siblings, Allen Bargeron and his wife Sherry of Hereford, Texas, Leah Helen Luke and her husband Gene of Griffin, Georgia, Mimi Sharon Ingle of Cumming, Georgia, and Velma Louise Wise of Sarasota, Florida; one grandchild, Adalynn Lopez and another one on the way, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Wayne Franklin Davis and William Lansing Bargeron.
