Gilbert Castillo, 49, lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas passed away on May 16, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Victory Family Worship Center in Hereford, Texas with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A viewing will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 1:00 -8:00 P.M. with a prayer service starting at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Gilbert was born on August 16, 1971 to Jesus and Maria (Villarreal) Castillo in Hereford, Texas. Gilbert a Hereford High School graduate met high school sweetheart Michelle; they shared 30 wonderful years together. He worked as a welder for West Texas Millwright. Gilbert enjoyed grilling out with family, friends, and the whole neighborhood. He loved motorcycles, Harley Davidson's, and time spent at the lake. He was a proud San Francisco 49'ers fan and had the joy of attending several games with his family. Gilbert enjoyed the road, traveling the entire USA. His favorite music to listen to was ACDC and Chris Stapleton.  He loved to play with his grandchildren, teaching and watching them play sports. Gilbert had a life lesson for everything and was always humble. Gilbert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Michelle Castillo, son Gilbert Ely Castillo and fiancé Ashley Tijerina, daughters Miranda Gwen Castillo and Alyssa Emerald Castillo all of Hereford, Texas, godson Jose Angel Morrison and his wife Vanessa of Amarillo, Texas, grandchildren Sophia Zepeda, Esai Zepeda, Riley Zepeda, Jayden Castillo, and James Morrison, five sisters, and four brothers.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a grandchild, and two brothers.
