Gerzain Valenzuela, 33, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Ramon Molina as officiant. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, from 4:00 -8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, with a rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Gerzain was born on May 12, 1989, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Hugo and Cecilia Valenzuela (Lerma). He graduated from Hereford High School in 2007. Gerzain was on the cross-country team in High school and still holds some records for Hereford High School. He attended Tarleton University in Stephensville, Texas, and graduated with a bachelor's in international business in 2011. Gerzain worked for Hereford Trailor Center. He loved his mom and family greatly; he would do anything and everything for them. He was the very best uncle and enjoyed spoiling and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Gerzain was always happy, he was smart, extremely talented, and artistic. He enjoyed painting and building things out of wood. Gerzain was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Hugo and Cecilia Valenzuela of Hereford, Texas; brother, Hugo Valenzuela Jr. and wife Sarabel of Hereford, Texas; sisters, Tania Huerta and her husband Beto, Pamela Armendariz and her husband Jose, and Sayra Rivera and her husband Nano all of Hereford, Texas; seven nephews, and four nieces.

He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
