Gerardo "Jerry" Garcia, 64, a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, in Hereford, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10:30 AM at San Jose Catholic Church with Celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 3:00PM-8:00PM with rosary at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Jerry was born November 15, 1957, in Hereford, Texas, to Maximino and Elva (Gamez) Garcia. Jerry has been a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas, graduating from Hereford High School in 1976. He met the love of his life, Maria, in 1989 and later they were married in 2010. Jerry was the butcher at Lowes Grocery Store for many years. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed listening to music, especially the Beatles and Chicago, he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan; Jerry was fond of working in his yard and he especially loved spending time with his family and his grandbabies.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children Abby Moncivais and her husband Marco of Hereford, Texas, Oscar Mondragon and his wife Olivia of Dallas, Texas, and Gerardo Garcia II of Irving, Texas; his mother Elva Garcia of Hereford, Texas, his siblings Dora Garcia, Yolanda Garcia, Roger Garcia and Eric Garcia all of Hereford, Texas, and Carolyn Berres and her husband James of Illinois; 5 grandchildren Makayla Mondragon, Oscar Nico Mondragon, Andrew Garcia, Zael Moncivias and Rockston Mondragon.

Jerry is preceded in death by his father Maximino Garcia, his wife Maria Garcia, a son Tony Garcia, his brother Arthur Garcia, and a sister Amy Garcia.
