Gaylene Reinart, 71, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, in Hereford. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Racers for Christ Chaplain Michael Norris officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral home of Hereford, Texas.

Gaylene was born on September 15, 1952, in Canyon, Texas, to Willis A. Jr., and Johnnie Marie (Ford) Hawkins. Gaylene has been a resident of Hereford for 23 years. She met Wayne Reinart, and they married on March 26, 2005, and together they built a beautiful life. She and Wayne were members of the Southwest Super Chargers, Rocky Mountain Super Chargers, and the Funny Car Chaos; Gaylene was the owner of the Prairie Rattler Car and Prairie Fire Funny Car. She enjoyed her cats, plants, helping Wayne farm and planting wheat, and being outdoors, but her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren, and family gatherings, especially at Christmas. Gaylene's smile, laughter and presence will be dearly missed by many.

Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Wayne Reinart of Hereford, her children, Reyla Auldridge and her husband Tracy of Booker, Texas, Shelly Hunsaker and her husband Dusty, and Kelly Brewer and her husband Tim all of Amarillo, Texas; her two step-sons, Jason Todd Reinart and his wife Lindsay of Amarillo, Texas, and Wesley Tyler Reinart of Plano, Texas; her siblings, W.A. Hawkins of Hart, Texas, Suzanne Henderson and her husband Tim of Amarillo, Texas, and Sue Hawkins of Hart, Texas; eight grandchildren, Clay Harris, Brandon Harris, McKenna Coppock, Chase Summers, Kaitlyn Summers, Kade Hunsaker and his wife Halle, Darcie Hunsaker, and Blaine Reinart; and one great grandbaby, Quay Hunsaker; and her beloved little schnauzer, Pepper.

Gaylene is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Quincy Hawkins.
