Francisco "Frank" DeLaPaz, 91, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 11:00AM at San Jose Catholic Church with celebrant Ramon Molina officiating. Burial will follow at West Park Cemetery under the care of Mendez & Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.  A viewing will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rosary/Vigil Service beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Francisco T. DeLaPaz was born on December 16, 1930, to Julian DeLaPaz and Antonia (Tambunga) DeLaPaz in D'Hanis, Texas.  Frank was a lifelong resident of Hereford, Texas.  He married Rosa DeLaPaz on June 15, 1949.  He worked as a farmer laborer for 20 years and then started driving a truck hauling commodities and cement.  Frank retired from truck driving after 20 years and then started working part-time for Circle 3 Feedyard.  Frank was known to have a sweet tooth where he loved his vanilla ice cream and whatever snacks were available in his snack drawers.  But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He will be remembered as a loving, compassionate and a hardworking man who loved his family very much.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Gloria Baca and husband Javier of Canyon, Texas, four grandchildren, Rosemary Duarte, Teresa Cervantez and husband Tony, Frankie Baca, and Myra Baca, eight great-grandchildren, Lorenzo Contreraz, Karinna Cervantez, Sarina Contreraz, Marinna Cervantez, Mark Duarte, Anthony Duarte, Diego Duarte and Tony Cervantez III, and 1 sister, Victoria Luna of Hereford, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rosa DeLaPaz, brother, Ysidro DeLaPaz and sister, Herminia Aguero.
