Fernando Licon-Gueto, 71, of Hereford passed away Friday, July 13, 2018 in Hereford.

Fernando was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico on October 2, 1946 to Jesus Manuel and Juana (Lopez) Licon. Fernando has been a resident of Hereford for eighteen years. He married the love of his life, Alicia Guzman in 1974 in Mexico. Fernando was a gourmet cook at several restaurants in Mexico. While living in Hereford, Fernando was employed with Cargill Meat Solutions for the last eighteen years. He enjoyed mechanic work, cooking for his family when they came to visit; his family talks about the different kinds of food he would prepare; Chinese, Mexican, Italian and American, he enjoyed working in his yard, Fernando believed that friends and friendships were a true blessing to him, therefore, he never met a stranger and had an abundance of friends; he was the greatest caretaker for his wife, Alicia, and loved her unconditionally, but his greatest joy was spending time and money on his grandchildren and family, he was always offering up a friendly piece of advice to his children. He loved his family dearly, especially his sons.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Alicia Licon of Hereford, three sons, Fernando Licon and his wife Ivon Salinas, Jorge Ibarra and his wife Erica all of Juarez, Mexico, Jesus Licon and his wife Cynthia Perez of Hereford and three daughters, Mayra Ibarra and her husband Roberto Ramos of Amarillo, Norma Ibarra and husband Manuel Meave and Patricia Ibarra and her husband Macario Regalado all of Juarez, Mexico; a sister, Luc Maria Licon and a brother, Carlos Licon both of Chihuahua, Mexico; nineteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Fernando is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ramon and Manuel Licon and four sisters, Emma, Socorro, Ramona and Consuelo Licon.
