F elix G. Barrientos, 79, of Hereford, Texas passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Hereford. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 2:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Nestor Lara officiating, burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Due to the Covid-19 virus everyone attending the service at the church must wear a mask provided by you and there will be no public restrooms available per the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will begin on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at 10:00 AM till 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Rosary will be Sunday at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. The Barrientos family is requesting everyone attending the rosary needs to be wearing a mask provided by you. Only 50 people will be allowed in the funeral home at any one given time. Your health and safety matter to us.

Felix was born March 31, 1941 in San Benito, Texas to Carlos and Manuela (Guerrero) Barrientos. Felix has been a resident of Hereford for 60 years. He married the love of his life Maria Garcia Barrientos on June 12, 1962 in Springfield, CO. Felix worked for Holly Sugar for several years, then later went to work for Harold's Body Shop as a auto collision technician, and worked for 18 years making this his place of retirement. He later worked for a short time with the City of Hereford. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford. Felix enjoyed taking his wife gambling, he was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan, he liked to watch western movies and listening to Tejano music, but his love was spending time with his grandchildren and family.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Maria Barrientos of Hereford, his children Elvira Barrientos and her husband Tomas, Esmeralda Dominguez and her husband Merejildo, Melinda Ortiz and her husband Arturo, Angie Flores and her husband Tony, Diana Dominguez and her husband Erasmo all of Hereford; Felicita Rodriguez and her husband Marcos, Felix Barrientos, Jr. and his wife Carla all of Amarillo; Laura Trevino and her husband Michael and Javier Barrientos and his wife Jennifer all of Hereford;  3 sisters Maria Rodriguez and her husband Guadalupe, Francisca Villalobos and San Juana Niño all of San Benito, Texas and 2 brothers Samuel Barrientos and Leonel Barrientos and his wife Lionila all of Harlingen, Texas; 39 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Felix is joining his parents, a son Felix Barrientos, one brother Reymundo Barrientos, 2 sisters Elvira and Flora Barrientos and a great grandson Rodjrick C. Mendoza.
