Felipe Holguin Ramirez, 80, of Hereford passed away Friday, December 29, 2017 in Amarillo. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas at 2:00 PM with celebrant Rev. Henry Wilson Rodriguez officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery in Hereford, Texas. Arrangements are being entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

Felipe was born April 1, 1937 in Mexico to Maurilio and Emma (Ramirez) Holguin. Felipe has been a resident of Hereford Since 1971. He has been a farmer most of his life. He was a member of La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church of Hereford. His hobbies were doing mechanic work, singing, playing his guitar, enjoying and walking the outdoors, but above all these his greatest joy was spending time with his family.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his children, Betty Salazar and husband Juan of Hereford, Felipe Holguin, Jr. and his wife Lily of Albuquerque, N.M., Sandra Grajeda and her husband Macario, Celia Hernandez, Eddie Holguin and Lico Holguin all of Hereford, two brothers, Guerrero Holguin and his wife Lydia of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Gilbert Holguin and his wife Alicia of Hereford, and three sisters, Martha Garcia and her husband Jose and Concepcion Garcia all of El Paso and Blanca Hernandez and her husband Pablo of Juarez, Mexico, and fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Felipe is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Soledad Holguin, a son, Fredrico Holguin, one sister, Maria Cruz and five brothers, Benito, Ruben, Nicholas, Mariano and Milo Holguin.
